How technology can help to better manage informal care

The TeReS ("Technology-supported Regional Care Community") project is creating a digital platform that makes everyday life easier for informal carers and at the same time supports regional advice centers in offering faster and more targeted help. The aim is to relieve the burden on relatives who provide care at home, identify risks at an early stage and improve cooperation with professional services.

Our contribution as NursIT

NursIT is responsible for the technical design and implementation of the TeReS app in the TeReS project. We are developing an intuitive smartphone application that informal carers can use to record care information, identify risks at an early stage and contact advice centers anonymously. The app will be available on both Android and iOS devices.

Why TeReS?

  • Over 80% of people in need of care in Germany are cared for at home - often by overburdened relatives.
  • TeReS offers informal carers structured access to information, guidance and the opportunity to network with local agencies - anonymously and with a low threshold.
  • Advice centers can provide more targeted advice based on the app data and make direct contact if necessary - also data-saving and controlled by the users themselves.
